Acquisition creates new opportunities to scale robotic inspection technology globally through complementary robotics, artificial intelligence and engineering expertise.
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM and PERTH, AUSTRALIA | 2 September 2026 – BladeBUG today announced that it has joined Nexxis Technology, a global provider of robotic inspection, maintenance and data solutions for hazardous, inaccessible and difficult-to-reach environments.
The acquisition marks an exciting new chapter for BladeBUG, providing access to complementary technologies, international resources and a global customer network that will support the next phase of growth for the company and its innovative robotic inspection platform.
Since its inception, BladeBUG has focused on transforming how wind turbine blades are inspected and maintained. Its suction-based robotic technology enables safe, efficient and repeatable access to wind turbine blades and other non-ferrous or composite structures, helping asset owners capture higher-quality data, reduce risk and improve maintenance outcomes.
As part of Nexxis Technology, BladeBUG will benefit from access to Nexxis' established robotics portfolio, including its Magneto electromagnetic robotic platform, modular system architecture, artificial intelligence, machine vision and advanced data capabilities.
Together, the technologies create opportunities to address a wider range of surfaces, assets and operating environments while accelerating the development of next-generation robotic inspection solutions.
"BladeBUG was founded to make wind turbine inspection and maintenance safer, faster and more effective," said Chris Cieslak, Founder and CEO of BladeBUG.
"Joining Nexxis represents a significant opportunity for our team, our technology and our customers. Nexxis brings complementary robotic capabilities, global reach and deep expertise in robotics, data and inspection technologies. Together, we can accelerate product development, expand into new markets and deliver even greater value to asset owners across the renewable energy sector."
The combined engineering teams will explore opportunities to integrate BladeBUG's suction-based adhesion technology with Nexxis' broader robotics ecosystem, creating new possibilities for inspection across ferrous, non-ferrous and composite assets.
For customers, the acquisition is expected to strengthen technical support, accelerate innovation and provide access to a broader range of robotic inspection and maintenance solutions.
"Our vision has always been larger than a single product," added Cieslak.
"We believe robotics, automation and data will play a critical role in the future of renewable energy. By joining Nexxis, we are better positioned to help customers improve safety, reduce operational risk and make better-informed maintenance decisions based on high-quality inspection data."
Jason De Silveira, Founder and CEO of Nexxis Technology, welcomed the BladeBUG team to the group. "BladeBUG has developed world-class technology and built an outstanding reputation within the wind energy industry," said De Silveira.
"The addition of BladeBUG strengthens our robotics portfolio and expands our capabilities across renewable energy markets globally. We are excited to work alongside Chris and the team as we continue developing innovative solutions for complex inspection challenges."
BladeBUG's London headquarters will continue to serve customers, partners and projects across the UK and Europe while becoming an important part of Nexxis Technology's growing international footprint. Both companies will continue supporting existing customers and commitments throughout the integration process.
The acquisition has now been completed. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
